(Continued from the previous story) Iris and Pet, led by their host guide FlyBot, eventually arrived at the Grand Reception Hall. No sooner had they arrived, when they heard a whooshing sound, and a blue light started to descend from the ceiling. Iris was totally captivated by this scene. Little Pet became quite agitated and Iris had to calm him down with her soft cooing sounds. All of the sudden a translucent, blue globe appeared in the center of the room and from its interior a face of an elderly man emerged. Now Iris became a little agitated herself, but when the face started talking to her she calmed down...all three, Iris, Pet and FlyBot were transfixed on this disembodied face. The face started talking. "Greetings, Iris, to my beautiful planet. My name is Heron. I have long gone to another plane...but I wanted to personally welcome you and thank you for agreeing to join us here, your new home. You may never return to your birth planet, and if you could return, all those you knew, your parents, siblings, friends are no longer on the living plane. You will meet your intended mate soon, live a long and fruitful life and make wonderful contributions to this planet and planetary system. You have been assigned a handmaiden. She will see to all your requests and instruct you in our customs. I say farewell now and wish you only the best." As soon as Heron's words finished echoing in the hall, the blue globe disappeared and with a sucking sound all traces of the blue light disappeared into the ceiling. Iris stood motionless, trying to take in what she had just witnessed. She then heard a noise coming in from behind her and soon saw a young woman emerge from the darkness--her handmaiden who would lead her into a new life.
