Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Nice how the tracks as a group form converging perspective lines, while having enough randomness & individuality to make them interesting...

Great capture Bill! I read your comment on Dana's (danapommet) post of his picture during the JFK inauguration. I admire your courage to admit that you voted for 'Tricky Dicky'. I became an US citizen in 1966 and voted the first time in 1968. I didn't vote for Nixon (couldn't stand the guy) and voted for HHH, even though his whiny voice drove me nuts. In 1972 I didn't vote, couldn't stand Nixon, even though he opened up communication with China, invaded Cambodia to go after the bad guys, and should be given some credit for scaling down the war. McGovern just seemed too liberal to me. Nixon made a big thing of his WW II service, even though he never saw combat, while McGovern never mentioned that was a bomber pilot during WW II. Had I know that, I may have voted for him. I have voted in every election since, but despite the fact that I am a registered Republican, my voting record does not reflect that fact.

Bill, I'm skipping now, and that's not because the intermediary shots aren't worth it---the are!---but because my server's giving me major problems and I want to get some earlier shots before I step away. I'll come back soon for more. On this shot: I can't help think "Midwest," since I'm used to the long vistas of the region. But it's a beach shot, I believe---I think that's water out there---and it looks like sand or water-drenched soil---with lots of tire marks, marking it off into infinity. It could be anywhere. And there are foot marks too. Now you may have told us where this is, in another upload, and I see everyone of yours often more than once; but it's been a while now, so I don't remember if you told us. Wherever it is, you handled the simplicity of such a wide shot very well; and the left side---which is lighter---balances out the right side---which is darker---and the little wisps of cloud in center, and the intensifying light over the left side, all go to make this a complex composition for a very simple shot. Bleak and strangely beautiful, and more sensitive work from you.
