Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

A million stories waiting to be told... A wonderful 'jumble' of colors and textures here, Bill! That must be a fascinating place.

Very cool shot of the old timers, Bill. Looks like they're all lined up for a crosscountry race.

Great capture Bill. What I don't understand is that I have never seen this despite the fact that have driven through Jerome dozens of times. I guess I am always in a hurry!

This is a great shot, hon! I like the composition very much. The diagonal line of the orange cabs, the way the pale colors are arranged across the image ... the whole thing works wonderfully! The pov you chose makes it look like the property is a gnarled mess of random machinery, when it's actually pretty well organized! Good job on this one! :)

Great shot Bill but what a waste. I'd love an old Peterbilt, especially a 281 if they have one.

Beautiful image. I have a strong love for old things and trucks are one of my faves. I always wonder what storied they could tell. I also wish I could take every one of them and give them a good home. I would love to get loose in there.

Yeah it's a jumble alright, but a wonderful mess of old trucks and their ornery "mutt" presence. Like those old trusty mutt-dogs who are so beaten up and loyal, they look like they'll last forever. I like your angle---looking up to a 'mound' of trucks; and putting those wonderfully rusted beasts near the front, so the other brighter ones stand out. Nice angles too, and I like how it's all couched in that full greenery as if it's living out its eternity in a plush truck-paradise. These old beasts have a dignity like the old barns that Lynell shoots, or old train cars. (Chicago has vast trainyards---which you photographed from rooftops---with lots of abandoned traincars; and I swear, one of these days I'll go to one and take pictures.) This has that feel to it, or like we're looking at a "truck river" where the trucks are flowing to the left...Very enticing, and poetic too. Glad that you chose to share it (as opposed to thinking, "too ugly". It's beautiful.) (Here's an etymology I know: "Mutt" comes from the old insult, "muttonhead," which meant a person with mutton in their brains, obviously. So a "mutt" was considered a dumb, rather clumsy dog. But such dogs could be so caring, and so reliable: I assume these trucks were once 'mutts' for their owners, so that the owners had remorse when they dropped them here for good, like leaving your trusty mutt with the vet for good...)
