My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

Great point on the restoration issue. Wonderful capture

This is really cool, Tara - and I completely agree! The marks of a hard life, and the aging process through the years tell a story much better than a flashy new paint job. I would sure love to find one of those old Studie Rocket hood ornaments somewhere..
whaleman
They sure put a lot into designing these hood ornaments...cool shot!

I like Rod's comment. Works for people too. I love the color variations on this old work horse. Great close up.

Trivia dredged up from the depths of my memory. Studebaker was the only company that was able to make the transition from wagons to automobiles.

Interesting. I'm a car fan, but never knew that Studebaker also manufactured spacecraft.

Long live the rusty hulks! This one has such a rich patina of rust and old paint, it seems to have a living and breathing presence. And what a moodily intimate shot of its beautiful hood ornament! Well done!

There was time a pride even in this ornament.. Meant to be seen and people would straight away know what car it was.. Not now though.. Shame. Great shot. Rob
