Description
Spotted on the thorn of a tree on a farm, this beetle had been pinned by a Southern Fiscal Shrike (Lanius collaris).
It is also sometimes named Jackie Hangman or Butcher Bird due to its habit of impaling its prey on acacia thorns to store the food for later consumption.

Excellent! The first shot I've seen of this strategy. Locally some birds do this using the thorns on the Russian Olive tree but I have not seen it happen.
