Description

This is the Church of St Mary's in the little village of Church Fenton (Kirk Fenton) near Selby in North Yorkshire, I passed this on a ride on my motorbike yesterday and went back today to take a couple of photos, as you can see it was a clear blue sky though a little chilly. The church is Norman and was built in 1245 AD it is cruciform in architecture. You may notice at each corner of the tower there is a red light, this is because Church Fenton had a very active RAF station close by and it enabled the pilots to see the tower on their approach to the airfield. Many thanks for taking the time to look, Rob

after all the butties you've shown us I did not expect a church, Rob! g this one is not large and fits better into my pocket lol serious now, it is an enchanting composed scene! the glowing light on the old walls and the shadow in front gives it the perfect soul! be interested to see in from inside, begging on my knees: please! g

Classic Norman architecture and a fantastic POV from the graveyard! The gnarly branches (upper right) are more prominent in zoom!
