Description
This image is for "Preecher" who asked a while ago for a picture of one of my Pythons. I hope you like it :)
This is a Cinnamon Pewter morph and was taken a few weeks after he hatched in June this year, he weighed 69g when first hatched and is now nearly 500g in weight. and his colours are much lighter.
I apologise to all those of you who don't like snakes and I promise not to make a habit of posting pictures of them in future (I have 17 Royal Pythons and a 6 foot Corn snake so I do have a few to choose from LOL)
In case you are wondering why I have so many Royals I started breeding them this year when the first of my females was heavy enough, I always wait until they are above 1500g to 2000g before pairing so that they are large enough to take the weight loss after laying. The female of this clutch was a "normal royal" and the male a Cinnamon Pewter, she laid 4 eggs and all turned out to be Cinnamons and all males too which beat the genetic odds. My lemon pastel also had a clutch of 4 eggs and they all turned out as lemon pastels which again beat the genetic odds !
Thanks for taking a look and apologies once again to those who don't like snakes !

appreciating a photo does not mean one has to embrace the subject. very beautiful snake. there are so many loose in the Everglades in Florida that they offer prizes for those that kill the most. they have no predator so they just get very very huge

wow...what a nice pet.....looks dangerous
Rob2753
They are usually very docile and fascinating animals :) They will only bite if stressed and only then as a last resort, in the USA they are called ball pythons as they will normally form a ball first if threatened.

OH WOW! It is a really beauty. I have nothing against snakes. I just need to know if they are poisonous or not :)
Rob2753
No not poisonous Helle they are constrictors and feed on amphibians other snakes and lizards as well as rodents, I feed frozen rats (I don't feed live)that I thaw and re-warm before offering :)

A beautiful animal and a very interesting info. The patterning is fascinating .... but I have respect before snakes. If they are still small (larger earthworms LOL ) it goes. But later ...?
