Description

My wife & I went for a walk in the snow this morning & I took my new camera along, of course, to put it through it's paces. I had read some very positive reviews about the extreme zoom on this camera, but also a few negative ones that complained that it was hard to get decent detail without using a tripod. This shot of my neighbor's handsome goat was taken from a pretty good distance away & was handheld & I was very satisfied with the quality (still shooting in RAW, though I can see that it's really going to eat up a lot of disk space). I also took some extreme zooms of some birds which I will probably post in the next couple of days... Please zoom.

That is a good looking shot of the goat! Goat's eyes freak me out. I was sitting in the driveway once and a goat came along to visit me with his German shepherd friend. My cousin was entertaining guests in the back yard and they thought I was making goat noises to tease them. I got the last laugh when they came out front and saw it was really a goat and not Dan.

The camera is performing well this is a great shot I now always shoot in RAW although my early ones were Jpg until I realised that RAW gives much better quality as the camera doesn't do any compression of effects as it would in auto modes.

Now THAT is a very cute goat. He looks well cared for and quite content. A great shot on your part ... looks like you were standing right in front of him asking him to pose! :)

Your neighbor's goat is very rugged and handsome. I love the zoomed beard and that s/he was staring directly into the lens!
