My sister ran the Boston Marathon a couple of years ago. I went with her and walked her to the bus that took her to the starting line. All the school buses took the runners to that point; it was about 6 am and an amazing sight. Every year the colors change; this year lime green was the hue of choice. Made it easy to spot the runners. It was an amazing experience; I was able to see her several times during the race. There were trains that took me to various spots and I had signed up for texts letting me know where she was and how she did. She had a personal best!! Boston is an incredible city; full of history of course, so many things to see. It's also a great walking town, I think we probably did more than a marathon's (26.2 miles) worth in the time we were there. I'm not a big history buff, but it's hard not to be impressed by the very old graveyards (Patrick Henry is buried in one), the USS Constitution, and Boston Harbor, to name just a few. Can't wait to go again!!
