Description

A Corel Painter doodle over an old photo of an Antwerp lane way back to 2006. Thanks for your kind care of my previous image of the dog against the ice-clad Azov Sea.

I like this a lot. It has a very palette knife painting look to it. Excellent.

Because of this street's cavernous shadows and its old facades and the fact that the facades come right up to the street (which makes it all the more cloistered), your treatment makes this a deep dream. The deep shadows upfront are balanced by the deep light in the back, and you have such bold hues in the midst of the grays, etc, that they become "characters" in the image: I'm speaking of the deep blues on the right, and the reds of the car and (I assume) a bin of some kind on the far left. And a touch of yellow in the upper right too. These are like "statements" in the middle of this street. A beautiful fractured dream (because of the planes and sheerly etched surfaces of your postwork); but it also captures essences of these cloistered streets. Dark and light, and filled with doorways to places we'll never see...Beautifully done in both camera and Painter, Nikolay.
