Description
We've had a pair of acorn woodpeckers around our house for several years. They hang out on the oak tree that's right next to our deck a lot (that's where our bird feeder is). In the pecking order of birds that visit our feeder, they're at the top, followed by the blue jays (steller's jays & scrub jays) & then by a variety of smaller birds. I've posted photos of acorn woodpeckers before, but my new super zoom allowed me to get closer than I ever have (this was shot at nearly fully zoomed - 35mm equivalent focal length of 1169mm out of 1200mm max).
I'll post a photo of a scrub jay on the same tree tomorrow...

That is absolutely spectacular quality, Claude. Wow. Pin sharp! Having used a similar Canon for a long time (which was the best quality picture at the time), I'm VERY favorably impressed! This is much better than anything I could have gotten. A most excellent camera! It's absolutely worthy of your fine artist's eye and your photographic skill.

It's not very often I get to hear or see a woodpeckers so it is a real treat when it happens. Very clear - great capture!!!
