Description

When we were kids, Daddy would take my sister and me with him to find the Christmas tree. We would drive out to a local hillside and wonder through the cedar trees until we found the right size and shape to fit in the living room. He would cut it, drag it to the car and head home where Mother would decorate it in blue and silver. I think it was year two of this tradition that stands out best. We located what looked like a perfect candidate but decided to check out a few more possibilities. Daddy told Ann to mark that tree and we took off. When nothing else measured up, we turned back to get the first tree. After a short time with no luck spotting THE tree, Daddy asked Ann, "How did you mark the tree?" She replied, "I put a rock under it." Unfortunately this area is known for its ability to grow eastern red cedar trees and rocks. Daddy just shook his head and picked out the closest near perfect tree and we headed home. Ann has never lived that down in all the Christmas tree hunts that followed. (I couldn't find a tree that looked like the eastern red cedar, so I had to put fir/pine trees in this scene. The squishing of the image really messed up the quality. Sorry.) LOL - this is fun, Terri! What wonderful memories, my friend - it's great to have these wonderful tools to bring those precious moments to life once again. Super work on this! Yeah, I hate the 512K limit - it makes me pull out what little hair I have, sometimes, but it doesn't look like Rendo has any intention of changing it anytime soon. It's the one thing they're consistent with.... :-P

That is such an adorable story. I love this render to commemorate it. Just think, it still has the rock under it.

LOL! That's a cute story Terri! Great job depicting it too. :-) Too bad the quality got a little messed up but it still isn't too bad. Funny how kids do these sorts of things, eh? I remember when I was a kid, my next younger brother had done something bad and my mother told him to go get a stick to spank him with - in THOSE days, as you know, spanking a kid was different than child abuse, LOL. Anyway, my brother walks to the edge of the woods in our yard and a short time later returns and hand my mother a brittle twig of about four inches long, LOL! Needless to say, my mother laughed and my brother got out of the spanking. :-) Thanks for sharing another story from your life Terri. ;-)

Very cute. You have caught the imagination of a child in this picture. Thank you for creating it and adding text to the picture.
