Description

It has indeed been a while since I've opened Poser, the program. I'd defected to Blender3d. That's it. Blender is exciting and constantly developing and growing and incredibly hard to keep up with ... and I was addicted. But, I was given a gift by a supreme Poser artist: Pixeluna. She's not the only Poser artist I've been conversing with: indeed, most of my discussions have been with KobaltKween who is, bar none, one of the most seminal forces in Poserdom today. Do have a look at her work: she is the most brilliant person I know, and I work with doctors. But Pixeluna (Jenny) gave me these files, and I thought: "um, sure, okay, why not?" And re-discovered Poser 2014 over the weekend. The Pixeluna files in question are SYRi. The work is far beyond anything I ever did back when I was creating content for Poser. This is a powerful pack, indeed, full of options and clever, inspired work. You need to get this! I loaded, posed and rendered, as we all do. But then, I started to play (as we all do). So, downloaded, installed and tried to remember my shaders from the Bagginsbill James Shader days (finally installed and had a play with matmatic 1.60!!!). Bought StudioArt-Vartanian's SissyLeBeau's Hair, and messed with *That* shader. Started to BUY stuff again. Poser is addictive. The dress is Cute3D's Wow Dress that I exported to mesh, turned into an object and then simmed. It's good enough to sim. Well done, Cute3D. Poser is anything to anyone. To me, it's a hacker's game. Did a fair bit of mucking around this weekend, nothing excellent, but having fun again. Get Poser, folks, it is fun. Seriously. But get Blender too, because it extends Poser!

You are so right about Poser being addictive. It is always nice to see your posts, Robyn. As I look at your image, it brings me some kind of deja vu, like it happened before. Maybe it was just a dream, a quiet place near the dock, the sound of ocean in the background. Just beautiful, and you have integrated all these in one beautiful scene.

Yay! It's nice to see you posting again. I'd love to see what you're doing in Blender as much as in Poser. I find both Blender and Poser pretty amazing in how much they can do. And Pixeluna is right. This does have a wonderfully dream-like feeling. Especially because of the lighting. It inspires me to do more with my current sky experiments and get out of the ambient lighting rut I'm in. Very evocative and beautiful work!
