Description
I just read this in an e-book on portraiture and had to share it. This is for all you photographers who don't get enough credit for your skills.

“A photographer went to a socialite party
in New York. As he entered the front door,
the host said, ‘I love your pictures – they’re
wonderful; you must have a fantastic camera’.
He said nothing until dinner was finished, then:
‘That was a wonderful dinner; you must have a
terrific stove’.” – Sam Haskins

I love it! Sam Haskins must have a sharp knife because he sliced and diced his host. A great share Mark!

A very sober come-back, I wish I could think of something so clever - whenever required to retaliate ;P pure fun, with tongue in cheek! ... life is really so simple, if you think about it! Thanks for sharing this little 'novelty' with us, I loved it - more - more ... BB

love the story, and I'm gonna remember that line not because I'm such a fine photographer and 'need' it, but because it's a great comeback to people who think the instrument makes the artist. One of the drawbacks of leaving way-too-long comments (me), is that I wind up commenting on much fewer artists than deserve my attention, and i eventually realize I've impoverished myself. So before this year ends, I'm making another pilgrimage to your gallery, and try to get at least a representative sample of what you do here. (A pleasure I've denied myself too long.) And btw, you may appreciate another artist's quip, if you don't already know it: Beethoven and Goethe were walking down the streets of Vienna, when they were both in the primes of their careers. It was after the fall of Napoleon, where many European diplomats were gathered to divide the spoils of Napoleon. Goethe bowed to a diplomat on the street, and Beethoven (they say) grabbed Goethe and rasped: "Don't bow to them: They should bow to US!" Not quite the same as your story, but still usable. Ok, I'm off to some of your images...
