Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!Â
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper! Â
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

Went to our Sainsbury's today - the music was quite enjoyable and I didn't have to shout "chocolate logs" at anyone!! Nice pic but a bit cold.

Oops, that looks like an expensive problem...someone left the door ajar, I guess! Great find and capture!

Our Sainsbury's does not play any music at all. May be worth writing to J Sainsbury insofar as the store manager may be at fault as to why the music is so loud. What a nifty shot this is.

That freezer is in serious need of defrosting. Music can be so enjoyable if it's something you like & at an appropriate volume, but incredibly annoying if not...

A very big, oops.

Superb capture Andrea. God bless.

How festive. They've decked out the ice cream freezer for the holidays. That's one of the drawbacks of this season, the incessant sugary music everywhere you go.

Excellent shot, I am glad I shall not clean this afterward :) Yes, too much noice makes one crazy... I hate it too.

Capital pic of this mini variation of old man winter as he visits your freezer, A. Hope you have one of those small heating devices available to do away with this frigid buildup, or at least a hammer and chisel.
Faemike55
and the type of music that is played is also found in elevators (Lifts) and on the hold line Great capture

How annoying! I feel like doing a little yelling just imagining it! :P Terrific shot of this lovely freezer snow! I think I'll pass on the product, though ... who knows how much it thawed?

It looks like it is trying to grow a Santa beard, nice one.

Oh, I thought at first sight, it as freezing in Bournemouth, dear. A very special shot you made out of this place, Andrea. I (or better, we) have also much troubles when the music is so hard, it overwhelms you. I then flee from the store. Unfortunately, here is music everywhere, even outside on the street in the shopping malls. Even several doctors in the waiting room. Horrible, I then can't think anymore. Haha, I might never have done that?

Oh Dear .

Jack frost clearly paid a visit and took a giant gulp of one ice cream container, looks as if he left his bite mark. Did they provide an ice-pick for those who wanted one of the containers of ice cream?. lol

Great shot Andrea! I find the entire onslaught of same-old music and endless advertising extremely annoying, and it has been starting earlier every year. That and the phoney country music Christmas TV specials, that were made in August.

Quite icy picture :) :)

It does look like a freezer malfunction!!! A little on the frosty side.

Being a bit of a crochety old lady, I've been known to walk out of a place where the so called music level is too loud. If I have to raise my voice to be heard .. it's beyond loud. Unless of course Precious Leya is barking loudly at an intruder, grins. Love the wonderful wintery freezer, especially since it's not mine to clean or and clean.
