Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

OOOOHHHH - this is a fantastic shot, Bill! That's an incredibly beautiful cave - Jo and I toured that cave back in '72, I think it was. We stopped there on the way to Grand Canyon. I got a few underexposed slides, but nothing this spectacular.

I believe the high iso is not a problem with the quality camera you do have Bill. Superb capture. God bless.

but the colors explodes on your camera however. I enjoyed so much shooting Carlsbad and learned a thing or two about low light. beautiful cave

Beautifully done Bill. I took some pictures at the Carlsbad Caverns in new mexico just north of the Texas line some years ago, and I had a hard time getting good pictures. Did you check out Fort Davis not to far south of where you are staying now?

I was about to say "Eeek! The bowels of hell!" but didn't when I considered the immense difficulty in photographing something like this - extremes between the lighted areas and the dark. I'm amazed that you were even able to get anything, most cameras over expose the light areas and the rest turning out black. This shows 2 things - what an excellent photographer you are, and what a good camera you have (in that specific order!). IF you have more photos from these caverns, please do post them. Your series of photos from this trip sure gives many aspects of America that most people (even Americas) don't have the foggiest idea of. Your photos could be put in a book, like "Bill's America". Keep up the good work! :-)

Beautiful! You make me almost wish I'd gone down with you. :P Then I think about the heat and the humidity and I'm glad I stayed home. :) Gorgeous picture. I want to sit at your computer and look at what you got on the big screen. This is really phenomenal!

This is the best cave shot I've seen Bill, and your equipment worked very well at its extreme capabilities! I'm not too sure I could go underground in those caves.
moochagoo
I never have been there ! terrific !

Wonderful shot Bill. Well done.

Super sepia color, clarity and detail in this stellar capture of the caverns, with its varied stalactites and stalagmites, Bill, taken under less than ideal lighting conditions.

I am pleased to know, that it was you, who went down there - I would most likely find it too claustrophobic ... but then again curiosity would get the better of me, especially when I see results like this ! irresistible image, Bill BB
