it was late and the sun is behind the trees. someone today told me not to paint in the sun or shoot into the sun, The trees was blocking the sun. I do not understand why? if you like what you see paint it. acrylic 24x30

Fantastic work Jock! the only reason NOT to take a shot of the sun with a digital camera is that it will destroy the sensor as Richard pointed out. as for not painting in the sun, why not? if it is there, then by all means, paint it in. your painting is an expression of you and what you see I like the painting very much and makes me want to take a trip down there to see this lake that you love so much

when something is stopping the pure sunlight you can get fantastic images! the deep light makes the trees golden and create a wonderful reflection! the whole scene looks so very light and glassy! ;o)
