Description

The clouds started clearing away, and the sunset looked to be a nice one. So I grabbed the Phantom again, and sent her up to about 120 feet according to the altimeter readout on the Ipod. DJI has an app that makes your Ipod or Iphone into a virtual 'cockpit' with all the essential information (altitude, airspeed, distance from takeoff point, number of GPS satellites it can see, battery level, etc.), and a live feed from the copter's camera. I took several shots of the sunset - for once unobstructed by buildings. I took the Phantom up twice, and this time, both landings were better than the first one today.. You can watch the first flight today, and the sloppy, bouncy landing (LOL) HERE, or copy & paste: http://youtu.be/iBRqycspPyc I rolled video on the two sunset flights, and stopped the video to shoot the stills, then started the video again. I'll merge all the video clips together and post them soon on YouTube. Thanks for dropping by and for all your wonderful comments and support! I'll post a full size version of the Strike Team from the latest T.N.A. episode later tonight or tomorrow.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW! Awesome sunset image! Cool video too. This inspires me to get my copter out when the weather warms up above the "when hell freezes over" level. BTW Rod, thanks for the close-up shots of your crotch at the end of the video, LOL! That was a great ending, LOL.

That thing is just TOOO COOOL! You and Mrestey/Mike can have video competitions once the Northeast thaws a bit. I lived in NH for 20 years and once it hits the deep freeze level, only the pioneer stock go outside.

Haha, unedited for sure, You might wanna delete those last 15 seconds or so of the vid. Green flanel pants.... my oh my Rod you are a man of exquisite taste!! I would believe it was just the Christmas season if you were also wearing a red jacket or cap with a white tassle on it. Now I stop laughing and have to say this shot is really great. It opens up a whole new world of photography. I also see you could plunk yourself down in my neighborhood and feel right at home as we live in areas of similar vintage.

Super Image!... saw the video, and it looks like it's a great little copter. It seems to fly steady and climbs quick! the shots it produces are incredible... Ranpha, Trish and Rico just may be coming over to give this thing a go! then it's good luck getting it back! Can't wait to see the group shot!!

Hmmm, it seems someone have opened Santa's gift too early. Have you been messing with the gifts under the tree? This is an incredible gadget/device. My oh my, I only heard about amazon's new delivery system and you have something similar. Merry Christmas, Big Bro and wishing you all the best: good health and happiness and a prosperous New Year too!
