This seems like such a simple image but there is a lot going on here. I really like the different color bands from dark to light and dark again.

This is a mysterious, archetypal shot of ice in winter...it's really basic, and peaceful and beautiful. Perfect for the ideal christmas day. It's just this dark forest, and a thick layer of snow all reflected in those calm waters. (It's NOT the Pacific, I know that: I mean I never saw a pic of the Pacific---that far north---that was this calm.) Love the dark waters below.
