Description

This has kind of become a tradition for me. It's one of my very most favorite memories and I love sharing it with you. My Christmas Story When my son was about 5, we walked down the street to join a bunch of other kids to see Santa arrive in a big, red fire truck. This particular evening was one of those clear, bright and cold winter nights. The excitement was contagious; the kids were beside themselves with excitement. Finally, we heard the siren and there he was---Santa himself. Well, not really, and I had to explain that to Jordan since it was Christmas Eve and he already knew Santa was making his rounds. I managed to convince him that Santa had a LOT of helpers who stood in for him when he couldn’t be there. That seemed to satisfy him and the candy and little truck he got sure didn’t hurt!! As we started to walk back up the street, a shooting star zoomed across the sky. Jordan saw it and just KNEW it was Santa and his reindeer. He was beside himself with sheer joy and wonder, his eyes wide as could be with that pure happiness little kids still have. He kept watching; we even had to sit outside when we got home in the hopes we might see Santa one more time. Of course, we didn’t, but that didn’t matter. Jordan saw Santa that night, his 5 year old self couldn’t have been anymore excited and thrilled. It’s my most favorite Christmas story and I tell it every year. Now, at the ripe old age of 34, he still remembers that night and loves hearing about it. May your holiday be that magic and may YOU look up at the winter sky and see your own miracle!! A very heartwarming story, Marilyn, and wonderfully told. I hope Jordan has the chance, someday, to have a little Christmas miracle with his children. All the best to you and your family for the new year.

Such a wonderful tale to share with us. It's amazing how (perhaps) random events can have a strong impact on a innocent and imaginative mind. What a wonderful though to carry through one's childhood. Merry Christmas from Canada.

A most poignant event, along with the silhouette of Santa and his reindeer as they soar across the heavens, make this a neato and joyful presentation, Marilyn. Ho ho ho.

a beautiful story, Marilyn, and told without pretense and with a lotta love. Wonderful that the star appeared soon after santa disappeared, like he'd just gotten in his sleigh and hit the stars in mere seconds. And wonderful that Jordan still remembers it, and can appreciate it with real magic. A lovely upload for the holiday, and I hope yours was and will continue to be beautiful and filled with love. This almost fits the writer's theme of "Random Acts of Kindness" (Something like that)---this "random act" came via the stars. Beautiful piece and wish, and many thanks for it, and for your wonderful friendship almost from the time I came here. It's been a blessing I'm forever grateful for. Have a great rest of the week! (And be happy you're there and not here---we're going down to minus 3 in a few days, and that's not counting the wind. With windchills, it should be, ohhhhhhhh, minus 4000. Jogging weather! Terrific!)
