oh, just wonderful. I'm glad you found the inspiration to do fractals again. This is really a landscape; and it has elements of where you live. It's more bleak than where you live of course; and it has no greenery. But it has that earthen green/reddish hue that many of your beautiful landscape photographs have; and the sky has that long infinite feel to it that you see in your home (even though here the sky is filled with peaks)...Maybe it's the vastness of it that reminds me of your beautiful home. Whatever it is, it gives us the feeling of a primal archaeological 'find', a primal cave filled with carvings from a long-lost civilization: Your forms (in the rocks) are quite mythic in scope, like the stylized creatures and humans of very ancient peoples. And they're all woven together like the great mass sculptures of ancient India. (Ie, lots of gods and goddesses all dancing together...) It's marvelous, what you do with fractals. And the sides---they just 'whoosh' out in sheets, like shale shooting out of the stone. Quite creative. Finally, there's the center---with that mythic sun: In the Americas, one of Native people has a female sun-goddess---Tjo. One of the few female sun-goddesses, from a culture that may have had many, centuries ago. (She gets her light from the male moon: Kind of a reverse of the usual mythologies, where the moon is female and the sun, male.) Well, this feels like a big goddess, giving light to the vast stone you created here. And it's surrounded by a deep foggy green, and those distant peaks. Wonderful and mythic, something straight from the imagination. A terrific piece of work.
