Description
It was Liung and Connor's turn to pick the movie for their weekly Movie Night. Being Manly Macho Men, they chose a blood and guts horror movie. After being "shushed" several time for giggling during the "good" parts, Kelli and Monja went to the kitchen and came up with a plan so evil you can only pull it on your best friends. Sneaking back into the Living Room, Monja knelt beside the couch with her camera phone and Kelli crept up behind the boys waiting for the scariest part of the movie. She intended to grab them as she yelled and let Monja capture it on video for posterity. Knowing there would be a shower of popcorn all over the Living Room, they had the vacuum waiting in the hall. Like I said, a plan you can only pull on your bestest buddies. Girls are really evil, just ask boys!
The composition of the scene fell in place rather quickly, then it took all day to get the lighting to even come close to emulating a television screen. After render gazillion-and-one, I said enough and quit.

once when I was watching a movie I decided to prepare a can of cinnamon rolls. an exciting part came on so I sit down with the can in my hands. the heat from my hands caused the can to blow open right at a scaring part. I was startled for sure superb composition

TV itself, doesn't light as much and here is the catch of the choice : or we want our scene lighted enough for some details or we have to get so close as a weakness TV's light that gives ghostly shadows and "horror" atmosphere mood... One way is a blue/green spot on tv axis, level to its screen, set to 20% approx. with a wide angle pointed at people in front of the TV. Another one is to apply an ambient emitting mat to the screen and then rendering with Indirect Lighting (and Raytracing) set, what can last quite a lot of time, according to the computer... Have a good New Year's Eve, Teri and see you the next one for other best wishes !

This is really a cool scene. TVs used to throw off a blue light but I don't know about the new flat screens.
