Not the most original of titles but to the point I think. An ice coated tree next to my mother's home on Boxing Day. This was some four days after the ice storm which recently struck the Toronto area. No serious damage save a loss of cable TV for a few days and a shortish (half a day) power outage. No loss of heat though as Mom is on gas service. I took this shot while cleaning Mom's driveway that afternoon. All of the resident trees were such as this. Combined with the afternoon's gentle breeze, it created an ever present grinding sound in the air. So strong it was that I feared a tree might just collapse then and there. None did however.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!

What a great looking and chilling capture this one is, Clayton. Reminds me of the ice storm that struck my area a few years back wiping out our power for two weeks. Once the main highways opened up we had to drive for an hour just to get gas, food and supplies. UGH In case you couldn't tell we aren't used to such conditions in my area, so when they finally did hit us we were not prepared.

I love bright sun through an icy scene :) That's the only time I really enjoy things when they're frozen.

this is such a lovely capture, Clayton...ice storms can create some stunning situations, as long as the ice doesn't get too thick that is...guess Toronto is really feeling this cold, how's your miserable excuse for a mayor doing? any more bouts of alcoholism or crack? now, we have the Christie crap to entertain us...like this nasty man didn't know anything about the GW Bridge situation...hope they fry the SOB...one would think that politicians would be more likely to behave themselves since they are in the public eye. but, i guess they feel they are above being scrutinized and criticized...how can they get it so wrong?
