Hi everybody,
My name is Dana Pommet and my wife’s name is Josephine. I was born in Gloucester, Massachusetts, in 1942, and except for a tour in the Navy, lived there for most of my life. I retired to Delray Beach, Florida in December 2000. We love to travel and photography goes hand and hand with that. I went digital about 5 years ago and started posting November 22, 2008. I have met so many wonderful people on RR and that makes this whole process so much more interesting than just posting photos. Thanks for all the comments and keep them coming.
Update  January 2012: After hiding and denying my mild Dyslexia, for most of my professional life, and now fighting with its advancement – I want to thank you all for putting up with my poor typing skills and spelling problems. I know that my spell checker hates me and I now depend completely on audio books rather then actually reading printed books.  Life marches on!  Â

Legless ? - had probably too much to drink on New Years Eve, LOL Sorry Dana, I couldn't resist that ! ;P BB I couldn't handle it the way you do, a bit of a slippery customer and too much like a snake - EEEUUUWWW ... and I have a lot of respect for them - but would usually - RUUUNNNNNN ! but thank heaven for the good info on them :)

Wow what a beautiful little lizard. Every single snake species where I live is venomous, so I avoid anything that is legless! LOL

Another one I've never heard of...Florida is the biggest zoo in the world, I think, except for maybe the Amazon rainforest. It's amazing how many things live there! Beautiful shots, Dana, and she does look a bit frightened in your hand!

What a cutie! Our equivalent is called a slowworm, and likes warm heathland. They are much smaller than these. I wish you and your wife a healthy and peaceful 2014, Dana.

As Andrea said only the Slowworm don't ask me why slow because it's not it moves quite fast, nice shot. Happy new year to you and your family.

There are lizards of this type in France, they are called "orvets" and they move differently as snakes, slower. Very interesting shot, Dana Il y a des lézards de ce type en France, ils sont appelés "orvets", et ils se déplacent différemment des serpents, plus lentement. Très bonne photo, Dana!

Something else that is new to me! It looks like a cross between a worm and a snake.
Leije
Yes, in France, the "orvets" (in french) are not dangerous and move stiffly...excellent duo of captures, Dana !

Andrea has said what I was going to say but would add that our equivalent also lives in my compost heap. Must be lovely to be able to go into the Everglades to take pics but I would be scared of the 'gators.

Looks a tad angry at being molested on your walk way, nice to know you let go in the grass, unlike the late Steve Irwin, reptiles just hated him ! Kool captures & New Years ~Cheers~
