Description
This acorn woodpecker was playing peek-a-boo with me the other day. This tree is just behind the bird feeder on my deck & he would fly to the bird feeder, eat a little, then retreat to this branch. Then he'd stick his head out like this for a second or two, retreat behind the branch, stick his head out again & so on, repeatedly, eventually returning to the feeder & repeating the whole sequence again. It was very comical & also gave me the opportunity to take several photos, of which I liked this one the best...
