Description
This old pickup truck, crumpled, rusted, severed in two & riddled with bullet holes, sits in a small field on the Enchanted Forest Trail. You get to it on a narrow walking trail & the field is surrounded by a forest & a small creek, so I have no idea how it could have gotten there. It's been here at least the ten years that we've lived in this area & probably a lot longer. I've passed this spot many times & I can't keep myself from taking a picture or two of it every time - from different angles & distances, in different light, with & without people near it, etc. It seems like it's trying to tell me something, but I'm not sure what. The impermanence of technology? The resilience of the natural world? The inevitability of change? A prophecy of the future?

outstanding capture. not far from where I live in a neighboring town there is a Ford pickup in much better shape than this one, but it has been abandoned for several years

A bit of all of the above I suspect. There is a fascination for photographers with old wreck cars and trucks, especially when they wind up in wierd spots like this one. There is often such contrast in these vehicles as they decay not in mass but in distinct bits and pieces, and that is part of the fascination I think. Also, the fact that they were once proudly used and yet they end up in decay, that contrast is also so poignant and tangible.

I know I'd be taking various photos each time Wonderful shot(s?)

I'd be shooting it every time too; the serial captures of decay over the years could be most interesting! As nature reclaims it it will only get more beautiful.
