Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!Â
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper! Â
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

It's a delightful shot and for 104 she looks very well ! my mother has almost lost her sight and she is only 83 but still manages an active life :)

Ralphie looks so at home.

A delightful capture and what an impressive age... Ralph does indeed look relaxed... I guess Buster was always going to be missed at the rest home, he was just the right size for laps and appeared very tolerant to remain put.... I'm sure he is around there in spirit.

She is a remarkable lady indeed bless her. I love taking my 2 little dogs to the care home where my mother is. She is only a youngster at age 97years lol. Lovely shot Andrea hugs Jane xx

WONDERFUL WORK

I'm a worrier, so I should be dead much earlier than that!

Good pic reflecting the moment, A. Well, Ralphie did his best to inspire and stimulate Doris, but it appears to be have been to no avail, as she sits stoically in complete indifference to the activity around her.

Poor Ralph. It must be hard to cuddle with someone so big. As for tired arms, I would suggest moving the chairs closer to each other. A beautiful image full of emotion.

I'm sure a lot of people miss Buster. There's a lot to be said for a calm and patient dog!

I try that, but end up worrying the life out of myself. And there it is in text after writing this I notice the term "Worrying the life out of"

One day at a time, one problem at a time. No point in worrying about tomorrow and it's problems, worrying pretty much saps you of energy that could just as well be put to use drawing, or walking with the dogs and taking pictures, or any of myriad of wonderful things to do. This is a wonderful picture. Doris looks a wee bit tired from reaching to pet Ralphie, and Ralphie looks like he's missing the petting. Yes, move the chairs closer together as Ralphie looks to be a bit big for Doris' lap, LOL

A very cute picture.

I can see Ralphie is doing his best I bet he's missing Buster too.
danapommet
WOW, 104 and God Bless her! I like Doris' outlook on life because stress will kill you for sure! Fritz goes to the Rest Home for the food buffet!!!! I love it!!
jocko500
good to show what goes on here and how these dogs do a good job for these people. wonderful job
MrsRatbag
I do miss Buster too! Maybe Ralphie should lay his head on her lap, since he's probably too big to lie his whole self there. O r maybe there's a sofa she could sit on and he could lie next to her.
