Description

Lord Proudbotham's notes on the reverse of this next photo show his class and attitude. "While we watched the animals on the surface, I said to Rudders that one of the smaller beasts would make a fine souvenir from our adventure. Using the rifle I commissioned specially for this this I bagged one of the smaller, two legged creatures. "The rifle worked superbly, and I must thank Lee of Enfield for their fine craftsmanship. While I dragged the beast's carcass back to the ship Rudders got out the camera to take this historical photograph." I felt it quite shocking that such a seemingly enlightened member of the aristocracy should revert to type, shooting the local wildlife for souvenirs. Well, he was a Victorian after all. * * * * * Again we have Cybertenko's deep sea diver and rifle, Charanx by DAZ, and the Mostdigital Creations flag. All rendered in Bryce with a lot of postwork carried out later. I chose the image of Proudbotham with his kill after thinking about how rich Victorians behaved in Africa and India, going on hunts and 'bagging' unfortunate tigers, lions and whatever crossed their path. I felt it was totally in keeping with the man. Thanks for looking. Iain

Great image and yes, sadly, in keeping with the times. Thank goodness most people think only of shooting magnificent creatures with their cameras these days.

Agree with Henchmonkey and you're sadly right about the probable Victorian response to local wildlife

I knew there was something I was forgetting. I never did finish this series off. Thanks for the comment Mondwin... I really do need to get back into this. Been letting it slide for some reason.
