My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

Almost looks like the shadows are duking it out!

Yeah, they are pretty much tangled up with each other. Excellent light, shadow and textures.
durleybeachbum
Indeed there is not! Although I prefer mornings there, as ours is much busier than yours. Amazing how much shadow those thin stems have made.

Wow, this is cool! I can this as a huge print, well seen! Have you tried a B/W version?
auntietk
As a matter of fact, I DO have a b&w version I'm quite happy with. I'll post it in a few days and drop you a note to let you know it's up. :)

Remember the movie Tremors? Well, all those wiggly mounds under the sand there, yep. You got away lucky this time.

You are so right! Your image is most beautiful and depicts the very feeling you speak of, being on a beach during a late afternoon. Such a warm, sandy, golden glow! Excellent shadows and lighting, my Friend!
spiegel428
Cool play of shadows, well captured!

Indeed! Not many beaches around here, though... :-D Wonderful warm light, and great textures - I can almost feel the warm sand. And the twigs and plant are a perfect reflection of the struggle for life.
faroutsider
Superb textures and light. I love the way you see the world...!
MrsRatbag
A lovely warm tangle indeed! I wonder if there are shadow arguments? "Get off my leg, you're heavy!" or some such thing...where does my mind go? Great shot with that low angle light!
