My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

The only thing I can think of his uncomfortable those chairs look. I like sitting in places like that though, I love to just sit and watch people and make up their story; what they are doing, where they are from, so forth and so .. yea, People are fun to watch.

My mother used to say, "If you want to keep it lock it up!" When it came to people my mother was a pessimist.

Great capture Tara. I didn't see the lock until I read your story. I guess they got tired of loosing chairs!

They might be habitual criminals and they are just out on a limited parole!

The solitude of the object.....I like very much the almost tragic perusal of this photo. Thank you Tara!

I've seen this before, too. Hard to believe someone would steal chairs, but then, chairs do have legs, so they might walk away!!

Nice shot Tara. Perhaps they belong to a chain store!!
durleybeachbum
Extraordinary! There is no way to get legs in there unless one is extremely supple and fairly thin. Does everyone drink standing up? Is it the time of year? no tourists expected maybe: SO many questions!

Those striped suits are a dead giveaway... (Quite a sad indictment of society, really)

Neat capture.....

lol cool. got a lot of thieves around

I would imagine that some people under the influence might pick up chairs and toss them into the river, and rather than bring the furniture in every night they just attach it all to itself and hope for the best. What a great find and shot!

Great photo. Love the black and white here. Excellent choice.

It's a shame in this modern world that we have to secure everything with locks and chains, just because some turd brain might steal it or throw it about. These people are a compelling argument for Darwin's theory eh?

A very cool photo, Tara! Lots of fun details and lines here! It's a sad testimony of our society that virtually everything has to be locked down with chains, cables, and padlocks to keep people from walking off with things that don't belong to them. A friend of mine is fond of saying "If you insert a small piece of lead in their ear, they stop doing things like that..." The tool for performing that operation shall remain left to your imagination... :-P
