Description

A collage of five of my photographs, using Photoshop filters & layer blending. The base photo was the one I posted yesterday - it was a closeup of a frog garden sculpture in my yard that had somehow developed a crack. Some folks commented about the mystery of what might be behind that crack - I guess there could be something growing or living in there, but I haven't looked. The other four photos were of a tree, a glass garden ball, lichen & a house... I won't be able to post anything for a few days - hope everyone has a great weekend!

I love it that the crack has now taken on cosmic proportions. (And Denise's "multiple-worldly" is great!) Terrific result. Compelling, and beautifully done!

having attempted lots of blends, I'm a big fan when it's done creatively and richly, as here. It's a dark piece, but still lit---like a nighttime vision. There's a connection, to me, with your daytime shots that have lots of deep shadow in them: You just work with dark and light really well. This is very dark, but the reds and bright turquoises, and the lights created by the lichen, all give it a deep-night ritual look. Intense and ceremonial...Also, the house becomes an outline, in your hands, a blueprint. (Does anyone even use the word anymore---blueprint?) Everything's taking place to one side of the house. Very vital and intense, with very strong light in an otherwise dark image. Shows that you find intense light even in shadow and deep night. Scintillating.

I like the silhouette of the tree, the glass ball representing a sunset and your selection of lichen!
