Description

This smiling person is the manager of the centre where I swim. I have been swimming there since John was only a twinkle in his grandfather's eye! See the original which I moved to Here

Nice, but I think to be highly critical, that bottom thumb is distracting!

A very open and honest - straight forward and no nonsense type of face (well, maybe a little ?) ... only joking, Andrea! I don't think the thumb is really distracting - because one can't help it but looking first of all, straight into those eyes! they are almost hypnotising ... BB

An excellent portrait capture in both versions, each has it's own qualities, I also see worry behind the smiling face, a man who clearly has many responsibilities and cannot please everyone all of the time, I would also deduce that he is a good man who suffers from his nerves a little albeit maybe secretly, this is evident by his nails.. clearly bitten very short.. a habit my late mother also had along with a number of people I know in this fast paced age we have to live in.

This is a cracking portrait Andrea! The flash has made it so crisp and detailed! This reminds me of the 50's record sleeve shots of the singer/artist, maybe it's the white shirt, tie, smile and pose in mono? Anyway for some reason I thought of Mario Lanza, or even David Whitfield if he was smoking too! It also made me think of my late father, that was his music, style and hair. It's funny what triggers memories?

This mono portrait of the smiling Center Manager came out most spiffy, Andrea. You can't be that old, because he's no kid.

I thought of a 50's style portrait, too. It's the forward-and-down shoulder, hands on the post, chin up, straight gaze. That was a "standard" look of the time ... very glamorous! I wonder if he practices that, or if it's just natural? :P either way ... the result is outstanding!!

Well, I think that I have to say that John is the most handsome random man that I can remember. Not to take away from many of the outdoors and rugged looking chaps.
