Description
Third in this series of 32 pics, taken off the south wall of a machinist building, not far from home, at 8:40 in the morning on 1/14/14.
I had intended to post a single foto from this series every so often, but I have so many I fear that I don't have the luxury of time for that. Ergo, it's a collage for these beauties.
The photos in this series rank high up on my list of peeling paint captures.
A ZOOM is essential for superior detail and overall effects.
Farvel.

Layer upon layer of peeling paint, throwing fantastic shadows on the wall, Harry; it almost looks like they just paint over the peeling bits periodically, and let it do what it wants to do, encouraging entropy. Excellent captures!

Well, I've been here an hour, and, unfortunately, I'm going to have to go to sleep again---but I'll be back later in the day. And btw, you and Andrea have commented that you haven't gotten all your ebots. (Nor I.) So please know that I did about 4 others this morning; so if you glance through the last 3 weeks, you'll see some other comments from me. There'll be more later, too... As for the montage: Love this collection. Love it. Zoom adds so much. The top one is like the State of Washington with a major skin disease. (Sorry, Washington.) Wonderful curves, peels and shadows. I constantly see "geology" in these shots...The second is similar to a previous one, a series of shorelines with "water" in between, like a bay or estuary. With bleached light and harsh shadows. (The light gets really 'arid' in shots like these.) The third shows more 'open space'. Though it's just a closeup of a wall, it feels---when we're inside it---like a big open area, with some land-forms popping up on the right, giving it very harsh shadows. The last shot is back to complexity, with all those multiple "scales" peeling up and out: Really fine eye for these things, Harry; and your morning light is, as always, captured for both richness and a bleaching bleakness. I love the variety of these shots, and I look forward to more. Should I say it? You pun all the time, so hey: Real Wall Appeel. (Awright I tried...) Terrific work, Harry, I love these shots.
