Description
Messerschmitt Me-262B 1a/U1 Nachtjager variation of the Me-262 "Schwalbe" single seat fighter. The 262 was the first operational jet fighter and was clear signal of the numbered days of piston powered fighter aircraft. A very effective and successful design despite its shortcomings, this was another brilliant aircraft that was too late to the party to make a difference. Personally, I've always thought the 262 to be an exciting design and it's one of my favorites.

Your right Bill, this was a terrific design for the times and you have captured it wonderfully as always. One of these days I will have to look up our testing of this aircraft here in the states just after the war. BTW nice texturing, you always add that final touch!

Great work! Agree, also one of my favorite jet airplanes. Love the accuracy you do inside all of your pictures, like environment or the flames at the turbines.
