Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper!
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

Beautiful Photo !!

Diesel - isn't that a form of petrol? Great images
goodoleboy
A stellar array of sepia hues/tones and lighting effects in this shot of one of your favorite parfumes, A.

Another sterling image. By the title I would have thought more of a petroleum fragrance.

Diesel always smells the same to me, nice shot.

Oh dear, I've little knowledge of perfume, but I admire your photo with all its beautiful colors, as the charming atmosphere; and that's enough for me to enjoy, Andrea.

Both photos do the job nicely!

Oh god, I hate the smell of diesel fuel. That's what big trucks run on here, and it's quite nauseating! I'm sure the perfume is quite nice, but I couldn't ever get past the name to try it on. However, it's a wonderful picture! :)

I liked the lighting in the FlickR version and I had not heard of this brand before!

Like tara, I can't get over the fact that a perfume manufacturer uses the name "fuel" after their name "Diesel". And I'm glad you like it. (Is it the case that more and more non-fragrance-makers are making fragrances in recent years? You see that in watches---Burberry makes watches, Gucci makes watches, Brooks Brothers makes watches---and they originally didn't. I can't picture Thomas Burberry, in the midst of his military coat days, thinking, "we have to come up with a line of watches!" Is it the same with fragrances? I don't know.) Anyway, the pic's the thing: You've taken the original reflections and lights and broken them into landscapes and colonies, and used a very warm series of tonal variations (from deep reddish browns to light greenish yellows). And once again it seems like you've left the bottles largely untouched, so they stand out against the postworked background. The two bottom reflections---beneath the box and bottle---are beautiful: A bright reflection for the box, a deep reddish brown for the bottle...More of your beautiful bottle work, this one awash in deep red-tinged tones, and with a fist-like presence in those browns. You may get these for the fragrance, but this series makes us grateful for their images. And you know what---the picture speaks of deep coffee-liqueur, like Frangelico or Kahlua. (Well, Frangelico is hazelnut, but it has a coffee-like taste.) Yet more fine bottle work from you. Loooooove this series...
