Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!Â
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper! Â
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

Boy how time flies... she is still so adorable and we are all so happy she is giving so much... I know a few super hyper local JR's that could sure take lessons from her! My Maltese, Mickey (my service dog) just looks at them as if "what is their problem?" I'll bet he would love all your very special dogs!

Magnificent portrait of Rosie, Andrea. Has it been two years already? She looks in tip top shape. It seems just like yesterday when you acquired her and separated her from her womanhood.

Such a cute capture, she has wonderful eye's and you have captured her so well in this shot.... through the years you have brought hope to so many dogs that had nothing but a life of sadness and mistreatment, I still find it hard how people can neglect animals but society still leaves me in dismay at times. I'm always suspicious of anyone who does not like animals, they may have their reasons in some cases but I find it hard to validate them.

I don't know who is the lucky one you or Rosie. Beautiful portrait.

Happy Happy Gotcha Day (that's what we call it, when we don't know the adopted pet's birthday .. the day we gotcha, or got you, if you want proper wordage) Dear Sweet Rosie! After the last of our 3grrrs, died, I can honeslty say that here, it's a question of who rescued who .. did we rescue Leya? or did she rescue us? She has learned lay down today! it took a little bit to conquer the language barrier .. but she is very bright! She looks to be a mix of maybe JRT, chihuahua, and even mini-doxie as she's long bodied and somewhat short legged, though that might be from the JRT, too.

I saw your title and thought, "No, surely it hasn't been a year already!" Imagine my surprise when I learned it's been two years!! Rosie is such a delight, and I always enjoy seeing her.
