Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!Â
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper! Â
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

Both are really nice pics but I prefer the mono.
Celart
Excellent.

They look like a grand bunch. Its nice to see a group of women out on their own enjoying life. Most women of a certain age, in my experience, are content to sit around the house and play cards.

Really good group pic of the smiling young ladies, A.

All the ladies together, a great shot and works well for B&W and in colour.

She most likely wouldn't have any way of showing the photos to the others anyway. This is a very nice shot! I like the detail and the outpouring of character from each of them, and B&W is very suitable, thus I did not even look at the color original.

the group portrait is beautiful, and while the color shows such strong saturated hues---I love how the colors progress from woman to woman---the mono makes their presence somehow more present, and I don't know why. Four very different personalities, in the pic, different presences; they really are each very individual in this shot. A lot of experience in their faces; and I love how the right-most two are arm in arm. Lovely. A lovely gentle portrait. Must have been cold--there are some warm coats there---though not too cold, as the one on the left has her coat open. Just lovely, Andrea. You do such lovely portraits.
