Description

This upright compact camelia bears the lovely coral anemone shaped flowers in spring. I am excited because I think this is the first time it has flowered since I planted in 2006. It's funny that I have zilch patience with fiddling with the taking of pictures, hence the point and shoot, but I am happy to wait for things to grow. Although life is getting shorter and so I shan't be planting any saplings.

Gorgeous result. Well worth the wait. Our camellia has bloomed after being dormant for three years.

This is so beautifully captured, Andrea! I hear you about the patience, and yet when it comes to gardening and observing daily the growth of your flowers.. it's a whole different ball game! I absolutely love the way you've composed this, such a brilliant focal point, and the greenery that surrounds almost reminds me of looking under a microscope and observing the tiny living cells up close and personal! Heavenly composition!

I've thought about learning how to use a proper dsl camera, but point and shoot gives you much faster and therefore more satisfying results, grins. As for not planting saplings .. we do anyway, at the Hollow, someone will enjoy them.
