Description

Vue8Frontier/DazStudio/Photoshop "Orca-stration#2"....more of a mixed media piece, was inspired by CNN's documentary BLACKFISH and this was the result. Orcas are from Daz3D(for some reason the female fin version did not import with the fin morph, not sure why). A volumetric atmo with adjustments to haze and fog created the murky water, sun was disabled and a volumetric spotlight used with a caustic gel. Rendered using AO. Postwork in Photoshop for the hand-painted bubbles and the floating debris.

The water effect is excellent, as is the lighting. This really captures them well.

Really nice underwater work. Only suggestion would be a hint of the caustics showing on the whale's skin, but that's minor detail. Older versions of Vue worked much better for underwater than the newer versions, ironically.

Nice work! Love the rays of light and the whole setting, really. As to the figures and objects, fine use of minimalism to convey a sense of the vastness of their ocean environment. Most excellent!
