Description

Sorry I haven't been around for a few days... I have wanted to make my own characters for a long time and have tried and failed a few times in the past. But after seeing Blacksmith3d had joined Renderosity I had to give it a try. I can only focus on one thing at a time or I get totally confused, so I have given my time to beginning to try to learn Blacksmith3d. I have to say I was intimidated at first because it is totally new to me, but after watching and listening to the tutorials I am thinking it probably is the easiest modeling program I've ever tried. This is my first attempt... It isn't great, it is only the first try and I didn't spend a great deal of time on it. Right now I am learning what the tools all do and how to use them properly. I hope you will forgive me for not commenting on a lot of your recent work... but this is something I've wanted to learn for a very, very long time. I put the original photo (a free resource image I found on the net) on the left and the poser/blacksmith3d image on the right. Thanks for taking a look and for any comments you might choose to leave. The photo model was from: Faestock@DeviantArt Seth

I am patiently going to wait for your new impressions on this wonderful toy of which I only have the trial version. Most of the time I use Blender for some specific needs. In all cases, for a first attempt, it's a nice first attempt ! Well done and keep goin' on !

This is amazing, especially the mouth and eyes, which are perfect. Go for it and never, never worry about comments. That's shouldn't ever be the focus of ART.... I'm anxious to see more....because this is a GREAT start.

Beautiful work!! And you hadn't really been learning that long when you made this. I'd say this is a Grade A first attempt! Your character looks so much like the real thing, it's hard to tell them apart! I can't wait to see you create after you get better and better. OXOXOXOXO Jane

** Falls out of chair ** This is your FIRST attempt??????????? Holy frack, Seth - you absolutely nailed it! This is awesome - and I had to look really closely to see the difference between the photo and Poser versions. I've been considering Blacksmith for some time, myself. This seals it for me - I'll be getting it soon!

I've also tried my hand at modeling. However, I have set again, because failure. Great, Blacksmith 3D seems to be a brilliant program. For the lady that you have made, the template like the spitting image looks! Very nicely done!
