Description

Captured almost four years ago, 2/16/10, early in the morning, somewhere around the neighborhood. Don't bother to ZOOM, it comes out the same size. Sayonara.

What a fascinating array of lines and circles, like little suns caught in fence planks; amazing captures, Harry!

(You wrote, "don't bother to zoom"---isn't it nice when you DON'T have to ask? It's like, when I was a kid and my parents always said, "be sure to button your coat": They were right, but I hated to do it anyway. Which raises the question: Why should zooming be like a kid being asked to button his coat??? Or cleaning his room??? We're all adults here, and we should be THRILLED to see an image as our fellow artist intended it! Yet still, when you can say, "you don't have to zoom," there's a relief---like "at least this time I won't have to look at the Full Views column, and wonder if there's a god..." Ok, rant over. I zoomed anyway...but yes, it's the same size.) More fascinating knot studies; and, in this group, you have a real orange---in fact, almost reddish orange glow. Not just a hue, but a glow. Of course, that makes the big black areas, along with the whites, stand out. And the grain is so present and visible. The bottom one---your 'finish'---seems the most intense of them all, with that white on the top like a little halo. And number 3 has 3 black verticals cutting into the grain, boldly. Another rich and fascinating group of wood studies, with all those isobars and islands and hues. I never get tired of this series. (And you even made it glow in sheer black and white...) Wonderful.
