I love that you posted this for Valentine's Day. Because instead of the usual lovers, you have people being animals being people. And the legs of the two lovers almost seem to be of one beast---beautiful. The spots dominate, and are even picked up by a butterfly (great touch!), and they're couched in one of your beautiful plantlife "beds" where leaves and ferns and stems, etc, all meld into a kind of stained-glass translucent set of veils, which seem to go back as far as the imagination can take one. And the large feline eyes peering through (on the left) are as if they belonged to the ultimate animal-spirit watching over everything. I like that it has menace as well as beauty, too---love is dangerous as well as peace-giving (danger each time one leaps beyond their self-defined limits). And you have your usual folds and undulations, and some very luminous lights---in those turquoise blues and light greens. It looks a little like the lights that spread underwater. And real contrast between the lovers' hues and the greens. Yes, it's great to see wildness in a valentine upload. (Thank you for your comment on my "mysterious dawn" upload: But that's a piece I feared looked like two kitschy lovers in front of a sun. I see that maybe it didn't, from what you wrote---thank you for such a positive and insightful comment---but this image is vividly out of the usual lover-based image. In fact, the two beasts show a great deal of tenderness and quiet, so the "animal in all of us" is melded with the angel as well.) Beautiful work and conception, Carol.

Appreciate your wonderful comment, Marl. 'people being animals being people'. That's it. I wanted to show their love and also their vulnerability(humanness). Love can be a dangerous experience, but so worth the risks. As can bringing a new life into a world that is filled with beauty as well as beasts.
