Description
I took this photo in Delft during the summer 2013. I loved the beautiful garden around this charming doorway. It seems there is always room for a garden if you really want one. :)

A nice warm spring image for winter, and well composed.

I think that area counted as their front yard, but those houses all seemed to be right on the street to me.

Oh how I love this! A fellow plant lover lives here. And I especially love the grouping in barrels. Very clever and pretty. And look at the little statuary inside the doorway and windows. Doesn't all of it make you want to peek inside this place too? After all, anyone who'se given outside such details, has probably come up with a pretty inside view as well. It looks like a warm, well lived in little place. Thank you for this. It was a great little view for my morning. Beautiful capture. :)

A very lush urban scene. I've been to Delft several times & it's one of my favorite cities...

By seeing the thumbnail, I 'fell in love' with this beautiful charming photo and 'street-garden'. Not only for the beautiful blooming plants, but also because of the nice front door, with the sacred statues of the upstairs window, as the other windows, and the old wooden vats. This is such an inviting picture to me, that I get a tendency to walk to the door and ring the bell, to see who lives behind this wonderful display and home. btw, I don't know if you are Dutch, sunrise girl? I am :)

Thanks for stopping by my gallery, I'd seen you in galleries of friends of mine, and always appreciated your comments and spirit. Then I saw the dialogue between you and Claude (about postwork, recently), and I appreciated what you wrote there too. You speak of yourself as learning so many things, but you have to know, pictures like this show total authority and total visual presence---this is beautiful. The piece is awash in beautiful purples, the whites and beiges are gentle and clear, the reflections (glass) are pristine, and your composition is fine as well. You have a tilt on top and bottom, and they balance each other out. And I really like that you gave us a large swath of street (or sidewalk) on the bottom---it roots the shot, and adds more of that beautiful hue. A beautiful shot on many levels. I'd love to walk there.

You get a feeling that you would be welcome there, and I love that door.
