Description

This image has been on my mind for a while. Somehow during the execution the idea changed into something darker and vaguely steampunk'y compared to my original idea (I had originally thought of it as purely sci-fi), but the overall feeling, I think remains. Critique, mood interpretations and all comments are very welcome and appreciated as always! Thank you for stopping by and I hope you'll spare me a minute and share your thought. Technical stuff: Process: most shaders were changed, some items were morphed and generally messed up by me as I usually do to hammer things into the way I want them to be... Postwork is mostly multi-pass layer manipulation: some duplicated, some slightly blurred, some toned down, or partially masked, etc. + DOF using distance pass and Lens Blur. Credits: Carrara + Photoshop Many Aeon Soul / Alfa_seed / Aery_Soul products: Outlander/Hear No Evil, Hanyma. Xenon, CyAtletik (I don't think these products are available at the moment, though. Am I wrong?) Ragnarok Mask by Bad Kitteh Co http://www.runtimedna.com/BKCRagnarokMask.html

in the spirit of Verne and Burroughs - a feeling of unplugged, a feeling of adventure and travel and a golden hour beautifully presented. It speaks that nothing is unreachable. It speaks desire, it speaks wonder.

Thank you so much! This type of feedback is exactly what I was hoping for in terms of mood interpretation. You've made my day. Thank you!

Thank you! Very interesting association. I hadn't thought of it, but now it makes sense. Thank you for bringing it up, and for leaving the comment!

Thank you. Sorry if this is a dumb question, but what is VR?

Very impressive, one of those images where you are desperate to know the back story! Great details and depth.

Thank you so much! This is high praise indeed! I love when my images tell stories or hint at a larger story behind them, even when I'm not sure what the story might be. Thank you!

Very, very nice. One of your best yet. One little nit: the DOF of the interior doesn't match the exterior. Maybe this could be done with atmospherics on the interior instead of DOF?

Thank you, Mark! And thank you so much for the critical comment. I've noticed it too. But with my intended title and idea (of the world outside being unreachable), I was hoping that this would open the image for an alternative interpretation: of the window view being a screen with the desired imagery projected on it, not a real window. I thought DOF gave a stronger hint at this interpretation and left it as is, but if it looks a bug instead, then I do indeed need to change it...
