Description
This plant was sold to me at a farmers market a few months ago. I was told that it's a tomato plant, and the spikes put it in the Solanum family. I've not been able to pin down exactly what it is though, perhaps a Solanum sisymbriifolium? This is not a plant you want to handle without gloves or run into accidentally even the leaves have spikes all over them. Anyhow, it has begun to flower and some small fruits have formed. It will be interesting to see how they turn out.
This was photographed with my new Sony a7K. Happy 2014 everyone.

Its definitely a Solanum although I've seen some very unusual ones I've not come across one with spines , nice find.

OMG, since you've been away for so long I thought you had long ago disappeared completely into infrared never never land. In any event, glad to see the beautiful baptismal result of your new Sony with the lovely closeup of this most arcane flora, Kurt.
