Ein königlicher Grabstein. Bescheidenheit war wahrscheinlich nicht seine erste Tugend

Do you happen to know the date when this church was built? Also, I notice that the name reads "Walter Douglas." Is it Walter Douglas Campbell? Of course, both the Douglas and Campbell names are famous Scottish names. Just curious. Thanks for sharing this photo with us!

I posted the info in an earlier capture with the title: St. Conan's Kirk. For you here again: St Conan's Kirk is located in Loch Awe, Argyll and Bute. It was established as a chapel of ease by the Campbells of Innis Chonan. It was designed by the self-made architect Walter Douglas Campbell and built in 1881 with renovation in 1906.

Wow Rita... what a great capture of this historic monument! I've been very busy and will be getting even busier. So I will try to comment when I can and I hope you're doing well. Very nice photo work here! You have a nice weekend and talk to you later! —Rich

Ruhe er in Frieden. Auf jeden Fall konnte er auf ein großes Lebenswerk zurückblicken. Schön daß jemand eine Blume hingelegt hat.

A very historical photo my friend - I saw something similar at the Scone Place in the UK.
