Description

I google this man as I like to know what he did. He pop up in two places.I did not read the second link as it was a long history of lake Charles, I put this man name down and lake Charles and 1800's to filter out all the modern people names. I was surprise to see a list of names that is bury in the grave yard. so if anyone looking for they kin roots here is a list. http://files.usgwarchives.net/la/calcasieu/cemeteries/corporat.txt yes some one need to fix these graves. I think The Daughters of the confederacy.is just cutting the grass and watching over the graves of the people that was in the civil war and no one else. oh before I forget this grave yard had four names so maybe that why people do not know this place they know it by another name? the link will tell you a little history of this place.

This is a sad and powerful capture, Jock. The people must have loved their pastor to have had such a nice stone made for him back then.

The Daughters of the confederacy takes care of where my great grand father is buried. my grand father(paternal) is buried among Native American Indian chiefs , but as far as I know he had no Native American heritage.

Cool downward shot of the neglected grave site, Jock. Looks like he died before the end of the Civil War. Besides cutting the grass, the Daughters of the Confederacy should get out there with a broom and dust pan.

These old graveyards remind me of the final scene(s) from Gangs of New York. Very vibrant times being forgotten slowly but surely.

It is a beautiful stone. If for no other reason than to save the artistic carving of the stone.

The light and shadow on this shot makes it very appealing - very easy to see the name. Great capture, Jock! I'll have to check out that link.
