Description

Here some more . I do not have many left. My fence in graves was shaky so I got to go back and take more as the fence is differ that any fences I seen around a grave some one say something about the New Orleans cemeteries? I been there on a tour . please go on a tour there. The neighborhood where the grave yards are is very bad. If you white and alone you dead. The tour had arm police with them. I know some black men that told me the place is real bad there. they would kick in a door and rob the people there and if they want some one dead they kill them for all to see. My black friend was at a small store and they had a man dancing in the street. A car pull up and the man in the car yell at the dancer to move. the dancer started to dance harder so the man got out of his car and shoot the dancer dead right there and he got back in the car and drove over the dancer then. My friend did not wait around . he took off as fast as he can . New Orleans is the murder capital of the USA . google it. lake Charles number one in violin crimes in Louisiana. google that also. I do not go in some places alone at night. Like the water front here in town If I did go I would not bring my good camera lol plus I pray first. This graveyard is not a good place to be along also. neighborhood is not that good. of course I google where the worse area is for crimes and that is where my house is lol oh I forgot that is I-10 you see there on the left

Each bad crime area has some good people like you living there too, zjocko. Just be very careful, but I expect you already are!

Amazing capture of those tombstones, they must be ancient judging by how close they are to the road... they call It progress I guess. Be safe out there!... a great shot is not worth one's life. Sad to see the stones in such a state... fascinating.

Great work on another very cool looking capture, Jock. I had no idea that New Orleans was so dangerous, and that it was the murder capitol.

The sad thing is that where the best photo ops are, seems to always be the worst place in town. There's a beautiful cemetary in Buffalo, Forest Lawn, where many famous historical people are buried. There are gorgeous monuments, statues, and mausoleums, but we stopped going there for walks with our cameras because there were so many rapes and muggings happening there, even in broad daylight. The old parts of town have wonderful buildings, abandoned factories .. and all kinds of cool things to photograph .. but bad things happen to people in those areas, especially if you're a woman. So, I'm happy to see you getting the wonderful pics that you get, but gosh Joch, stay safe, don't travel alone, and just be extra careful.

A great shot but it is a real shame the shape some of these cemeteries are in.

The tranquil look of this and all your photos of this cemetery certainly give no hint of how bad the area is. Just be careful out there, Jock!

This is a grand shot and even more so because of the risks involved. I was told the same about the cemeteries that they are not places to mess with because of the living criminal element, not the ghosts. A fine capture.
