Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

This is SO cool! I've seen similar when flying, but this one is quite unique. And, those small cell phone cams sure come in handy and often take anmazingly good photos, as this one testifies to. My little FinePix by Fuji has done a great job, taking all the photos I've posted here at Renderosity, which is why (beside the cost) I haven't bought a larger camera. Great shot even if it was "only" the cell phone camera! Keep up the good work! :-)

The cloud is amazing enough, but the shadow is stunning; great shot indeed!

Now, that's really cool, Bill! Don't you just love the things you see from the air! It's almost like a shadow-puppet show!

I love seeing shots like this; I always have my camera close when I fly for this very reason. This is just great, you'd never think of a cloud having a shadow!!

Amazing capture my friend. My wife took some amazing cloud captures as well using her cell phone while on flight to enjoy our boat cruise that she had won through a competition. God bless.

Phones can give some very nice shots. 10 years ago, no one would've dreamt it---they have more resolution than my old Nikon... It's a sweet shot, with that purplish haze that aerial shots have, and probably from the tint of the window as well. Nice swirling feeling. And the finger clouds remind me of the Finger Lakes. A very peaceful shot, with a nice swath of that multi-blue sky to make it all whole. Very nice work from a plane, bill. And, being a pilot, I assume one of the joys of flying is that peace you feel when seeing the earth from high up: It's all a big swirl of hues and beautiful shapes, all topped of with a blue we rarely see on ground. It must be wonderful to fly through that for long periods of time... (Btw, I'm still upset about the flange thing. Just wanted you to know that...)
