UPDATED: September 19, 2010
Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Another fantastic images from these wonders of nature. I wonder how many there are which go undiscovered? Who gets to see them and enjoy them? COnsidering the lighting challenge here, you've done superbly! I assume by this time you out-do even National Geographic's photographers! The detail you've captured here is amazing. Keep up the good work, Bill. And here's wishing you and Tara a Happy New Year! :-)

Nice shot. Caves are magical places, but it's challenging to get a good photo under those types of lighting conditions - you did well here...

These stalactites and stalagmites have always fascinated me, although I've never seen any in person...amazing to think how old they are! Wonderful shot, Bill!

That is a beautiful cave - Jo and I visited it back in 71, I think it was. I still remember those formations. A great capture, Bill! Makes me want to go back again!

HNY to you and the auntie mate. This is a great capture. We have a comical saying here that makes us remember the order of stalagmites and stalactites. We simply say, "It might go up if tights come down" hehehe Smack his hand :)

Happy New Year, Bill! Yeah, it's been a while... too busy with my job, traveling a lot, tired... now I got some problems with my brand new Ram ProMaster, got it in the shop here in Houston area now, so here's the chance for another few relaxed days... I've been passing Sonora so many times, but most of the time it was nighttime and who dares to visit caves during the night... excellent shot!

I was sure I'd commented on this, but it turns out I'd commented on another Sonora shot...This is as dramatic and mysterious as the other one. It's beautiful how the lighted interior is framed by all that shadowed stone. And your varied textures come through beautifully---and so clearly, given your huge ISO. I know you have one of the great dark-capable cameras, but when I see 20,000, I still expect to be walloped by grain. Fine work. And real clarity in the outlines too, the black against the rock. It must have chambers looking over chambers, because you're standing in one, overlooking this big cavernous opening. It must be a paradise for photographers. And I like that you got the human light---in the left---as a gently flared beacon. It's beautiful, and it opens up as if to a wonderland. If this is all limestone, it's just amazing what simple calcium compounds can do. A mysterious and beautiful shot. I wonder how it feels in there. Cool and damp? Warm and damp? Cloistered? Strangely open. I've not been in a cave since childhood... Bill, I'm not faving because, with a sputtering server a fav presents another possibility of losing the signal. So just know (well, you always know) that your whole gallery is a fav for me. I haven't fav'd since friday morning. Too many steps for the server to jump on...

A fantastic lighting and capture Bill. So far Carlsbad Caverns, NM is my favorite!
